Proceedings of the First Scientific Conference on Studies and Sciences
Under the patronage and supervision of the Sumer Center for Scientific Research, the First Scientific Conference on Studies and Sciences was held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Zwein Library Hall in Najaf Al-Ashraf, with the participation of distinguished professors, researchers, postgraduate students, and a number of eminent academic and scientific figures.
The conference opened with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs of Iraq. This was followed by opening remarks delivered by Dr. Youssef Ali Youssef, Director of the Sumer Center for Scientific Research, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Dua Taher Matroud, who warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the significance of this conference as an important step towards enhancing the role of scientific research and developing academic studies in the service of knowledge and society.
The conference program was divided into two main sessions:
Session One (Humanities and Social Sciences): Included research papers addressing contemporary issues in education, language, literature, and political sciences.
Session Two (Applied and Technical Sciences): Focused on the latest advancements in applied sciences and technology, highlighting the role of artificial intelligence and modern technologies in supporting scientific research.
The sessions witnessed fruitful scientific discussions and interactive debates between researchers and participants, resulting in a set of important recommendations, including:
- Establishing the conference as an annual academic tradition organized by the Sumer Center for Scientific Research.
- Encouraging researchers and postgraduate students to publish in reputable scientific journals.
- Expanding scientific cooperation between the Sumer Center and local as well as international universities.
- Supporting interdisciplinary studies and linking scientific research to the needs of society.
At the conclusion of the conference, Dr. Youssef Ali Youssef and Dr. Dua Taher Matroud expressed their gratitude and appreciation to all researchers and participants. Certificates of participation were distributed to honor their contributions and efforts, bringing the conference to a close in an atmosphere of academic enrichment and scientific exchange.
